Burris Optics – FastFire E
Burris are back with another potentially ground-breaking enclosed red dot.

The Burris FastFire E is the latest red dot optic in the FastFire series, and the first to adopt a fully enclosed emitter design. It features a 3.5 MOA dot (available in red or green) and is designed for use on pistols, shotguns and carbines.
It’s housed in a monolithic 7075 aluminium body, creating a rugged and sealed construction that is waterproof, shockproof and fog-proof. With the emitter enclosed, it means greater protection from debris and dust, which would be beneficial to range shooters and especially hunters.
The reported battery life of 60,000 hours makes it always-on and ready instantly – a big plus for many people. There are eight brightness settings, including two night vision-compatible levels. An auto-brightness reset and a button lockout function are also included to prevent any accidental changes while in use.
The FastFire E also features a large 22x17mm window along with 1x magnification, making it forgiving when time is of the essence and allowing both eyes to remain open for improved situational awareness.
Both windage and elevation can be adjusted with 100-MOA range via low-profile dials. The 3.5 MOA dot provides a balance between speed and precision, offering fast target acquisition at close range while still allowing for accurate shot placement at moderate distances.
As for mounting, it uses the Aimpoint ACRO footprint, and a T10 tool is included for installation. The side-loading battery tray allows changes without removing the sight or affecting zero.
While the FastFire E may not introduce any brand-new concepts to red dots, it does show a significant step forward for Burris, in that it combines the fully enclosed emitter with extended battery life, and wide field of view, all in a compact duty-ready sight. It’s a great option for shooters looking for something that is practical, reliable and capable of preforming in different environments.
