Benchrest – Fly

Fly is a rifle-only shooting discipline featuring both Rimfire and Centrefire matches, typically shot at 200 yards and 500 metres respectively. Each match consists of five targets, with a tiny 30mm ‘fly’ acting as the X-ring, surrounded by traditional scoring rings.
What makes Fly unique is that both score and group size contribute to the final result. Shooters are aiming not only for accuracy but also precision, attempting to place their five-shot group as tightly as possible around the fly for the best possible score.
