Firearms Safety Course
Applicants for a new Queensland Firearms Licence must successfully complete an approved course in Firearm Safety (Course #11029NAT) in the 12-month period ahead of the date they wish to lodge their application. The courses we offer meet the requirements for a Queensland licence.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be forwarded a Certificate of Attainment – this certificate is valid for 12 months from the date of course completion to allow you to lodge your application for a firearms licence.
Each category of licence has a specific elective that must be completed. A typical Firearms Safety Course comprises Section 1 and the Elective for Category A & B firearms. We are also able to provide firearms safety training for other categories including C, D, and H upon request.
The courses deal with knowledge, conduct, and best practice needed to use a firearm safely, responsibly and legally. They include the technology of firearms and ammunition, safe handling and safe use of firearms, legal and social responsibilities of shooters, and practical shooting.
