Balanced laws in focus for Queensland

We would like to acknowledge Premier Crisafulli and the Queensland Government for taking a measured and considered approach to firearms legislation during a time of heightened national discussion.

Rather than rushing into reactionary policy, Queensland has continued to focus on balanced laws that target criminal misuse while respecting responsible, licensed firearms owners.

We also want to sincerely thank our members who took the time to write to their local representatives and contribute thoughtful submissions. Every letter, every email and every conversation matters. Your engagement helps secure the future of shooting sports in Queensland.

Finally, thank you to Michelle Landry MP for recognising the voice of our Association in Parliament, and for quoting our SSAA Queensland State President Jeff Ross during debate. It is important that the perspectives of responsible firearms owners are heard clearly and fairly in these discussions.

Jeff will be in parliament later this week to continue talks and to give a presentation.
