Fact-Based Reasoning Thrown Out the Window on Adler Classification

MEDIA RELEASE

12 December 2016

SSAA (Qld) Inc. is vehemently opposed and disappointed by Friday’s decision out of COAG.

It shows a complete disregard for fact-based discussions coupled with a total disregard for Australia’s law abiding firearms owners. At best, the decision is nonsensical. At worst, our Government representatives have been led up the garden path by totally emotive and irrational thinking. Where is the fact-based, rigorous discussion that is rightly expected of our Governments when making decisions?

We strongly urge all Queensland shooters, regardless of your affiliations or shooting disciplines to unite and make your voice heard by contacting your Local and State members of Parliament ensuring that they are aware of your complete lack of faith in this decision.

We urge you to insist that they DO NOT enact the proposed legislation in Qld.

We urge you to insist that Policy must be based on FACTS and not the emotive, un-educated actions of the few.

Puff pieces by past politicians, living on their past glories have no place influencing the decisions that affect law abiding firearms owners. Enough is enough. Allow us to enjoy our sport, allow us to continue our conservation efforts and allow our farmers the right to make a living. We are the responsible, law-abiding firearms owners.

It is time our Governments started worrying about border security, stopping the illegal import of firearms. Make sure your voice is heard. Tell your Member that you will not support them in the next election if they do not support you now in stopping this ridiculous legislation from passing in Queensland.

We are the responsible, law-abiding firearms owners.
